New Delhi last night and this morning experienced a rapid fall down in the quality of air.
Delhi ranks among the top 15 cities in terms of pollution and ppm concentration. Currently the city ranks 11 with a pm nearby ( 122 pm 2.5 ).
WHY IS PM 2.5 DANGEROUS ?
PM 2.5 is extremely dangerous because they are very small and light fine particles which stay for very long in the air and gradually affects the air quality, our health and environment.
WHAT IS THE AIR QUALITY CONDITION IN DELHI ?
New Delhi’s air condition turns ‘ hazardous ‘ because of thick smoke which surrounded Delhi NCR with a very high ppm concentration.
Many areas suffered a rapid fall in air quality which jumps to the level of very poor and indeed it is not good for us.
The overall air quality index ( AQI ) PM 2.5 recorded today was near around 805-806.
We all know the reason for this sort of result.
The reason is burning of crackers which contains very toxic chemicals.
Supreme court allowed the burning of crackers in between 8 pm to 10 pm.
Though we experienced the noise from 6 pm to 12 pm.
Even I observed a rapid growth of burning crackers last night.
In Delhi some people are trying to cooperate by giving up crackers while others are burning them in such a high rate.
WHY WE CANNOT BLAME THE GOVERNMENT ONLY ?
We cannot blame the government alone because we also are not following the rules and we all know the consequences of burning crackers still we are not burning our Ego’s instead we are burning crackers. We do so for fun and later suffer for it.
The supreme court had allowed bursting of crackers only for 2 hours and ordered to manufacture and sale only the green crackers which offers a low light and sound emission so that we can control the air pollution level upto some extent.
Delhi experienced its worst air quality last night and this morning.
Some of the regions are at high alert i.e it is better you should wear a mask while going outside to get protection against the particulate matters upto some extent.
WHAT WERE THE ORDERS ?
The court had ordered the police to stay alert and look over that no one should burn crackers of last year and there should be no selling of crackers which produces a huge amount of noise and pollution.
Though the police tried everything they can still we observed such offensive behaviour from the public.
This is our duty to celebrate an Eco-friendly Diwali every year by avoiding crackers.
THINGS WHICH CAN OCCUR AFTER THIS HIGH ALERT POLLUTION LEVEL
- Global warming
- Climate Change
- Health problems especially respiratory problems
- High carbon content in the atmosphere
WHICH AREAS ARE AT HIGH ALERT ?
Areas recorded with very high pollution levels are : –
- Anand Vihar
- Lajpat Nagar
- Punjabi Bagh etc.
The police committed that due to such violations and offense they will take severe actions.
WHAT PRECAUTIONS CAN WE TAKE ?
The precautions you must take are as follows:-
- If you have any more crackers left then dispose them immediately.
- Before going outside your home, wear a mask to avoid the ppm intake directly.
- Cover your body as much as you can.
- Try to drink water from your home.
- Don’t use vehicles unnecessarily, now its heavy time to contribute for our nature.
